Join the San Diego Press Club on Monday, April 27 at 7 p.m. for a timely Zoom conversation between San Diego Sun Editor Ron Donoho and San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl. This discussion will focus on the San Diego Police Department’s recent decision to discontinue its Media Identification Card (Press Pass) program and associated parking placards. Chief Wahl will explain the department’s reasoning, what the change means for working journalists, and how SDPD plans to handle media access and identification at emergency scenes and other active incidents going forward. This is an opportunity for journalists, editors, and media professionals to hear directly from the chief about how the change may affect reporting in the field.
