The San Diego Press Club hosts their first-ever “Powerhouse Panel” on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. The panel features the three media professionals honored for their career achievement at the 2020 Excellence in Journalism Awards event hosted by the San Diego Press Club in Oct. 2020. Participants include:
Alison St. John, retired reporter for KPBS who received the Harold Keen Award for outstanding contributions in journalism;
Linda Rosas Townson, publisher of San Diego Neighborhood Newspapers who was honored with the Jim Reinman Award for excellence in media management; and
Maria Velasquez, former spokesperson for the San Diego City Attorney’s Office and San Diego Housing Commission, who earned the Andy Mace Award for career achievements in public relations.
The virtual event is moderated by San Diego Press Club board member Ebone Monet, who will lead an in-depth conversation about their careers and how the pandemic has changed their jobs this year. This event is free to attend and is open to members and non-members.
